Google is celebrating its 23rd birthday, Happy B'day to you Google
Express News: Google is celebrating its 23rd birthday on Monday. To mark an event, a search engine came up with a doodle on its homepage. The glowing doodle puts the cake labeled "23" on top, replacing the birthday candle with an "L" on "Google." When Google's foundation began in 1997, it was officially launched as a company on September 27, 1998.
Founded by Sergey Brin and Larry Page, Google today is the most widely used search engine in the world. Its current CEO is Sundar Photosi, who won the page on October 24, 2015. In 1997, Sergey Brin, a Stanford University graduate student, was assigned to show Larry Page, who was considering Stanford graduating at the time, on campus.
The following year, both Google founders built a search engine together in their bedrooms and upgraded their original version. “Every day, billions of search engines go to Google in more than 150 languages worldwide, and although much has changed since the first days of Google, from its original built-in closet to toy servers is now stored in more than 20 data centers worldwide "Its purpose is to make the world's knowledge accessible to everyone," Google wrote in a statement.
